The Oklahoma City Thunder travel to the nations capital to take on the Washington Wizards Monday night! Below we will continue our NBA odds series as we hand out a Thunder-Wizards prediction and pick. We will also let you know how to watch the game.

The Thunder are having a great season. On the backs of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (SGA) and Chet Holmgren, the Thunder are 23-11 heading into their 35th game of the season. They are on a two-game losing streak, though. As for the team, SGA is averaging 31.5 points per game, 6.0 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 2.4 steals. He is a sure-fire All-Star, and has shown it this season. Holmgren is averaging 17.4 points per game, 7.4 rebounds, and his paint presence is known as he averages 2.6 blocks, as well. As a team, the Thunder average 121.8 points per game.

The Wizards are 6-29 this season, and they have lost eight of their last 10 games, including their last four. Washington is led by Kyle Kuzma as he scores 22.6 points per game. Jordan Poole is one of the most disappointing players in the NBA this season as he is scoring just 16.3 points per game, and combines for just 6.0 rebounds and assists.

Why The Thunder Could Cover The Spread

As mentioned, the Thunder score 121.8 points per game this season. With SGA, Jalen Williams, and Holmgren all healthy, the Thunder are poised to have another big game on the offensive side of the court. Their points per game ranks fourth in the NBA. They are also one of just three teams to shoot 50 percent or better from the field. The Thunder know how to score the basketball, and that will not change in this game.

The Wizards are a terrible defensive team. it is a big reason for the struggles this season. Washington allows 126.1 points per game, and that is the worst in the NBA. They also allow teams to shoot 50.2 percent from the field, a d 38.2 percent from beyond the arc. Washington does not help themselves at all on defense, and the Thunder are going to take advantage of that. As long as Oklahoma City doesn't go cold, they are going to dominate this game.

Why The Wizards Could Cover The Spread

Washington needs to keep up offensively. They have proven all season they do not have the defensive skill to pick up their offense if they struggle to shoot. This means it is all up to the offense, especially with how good the Thunder are. With that said, the Wizards do score 115.1 points per game, so it is not bad at all. The Wizards make the seventh-most shots per game in the NBA, as well. Washington needs Kuzma and Poole to have big games along with some of their role players. If they can do that, they will at least cover the spread.

Final Thunder-Wizards Prediction & Pick

I can not get myself to bet on the Wizards. Washington is not a good team, and their lack of defense makes it very hard to bet on them. For that reason, I think the Thunder are going to dominate this game. I am going to take the Thunder in this one.

Final Thunder-Wizards Prediction & Pick: Thunder -11.5 (-110), Over 244.5 (-110)
