The future of college football is an uncertain one, especially with conference realignment causing widespread changes in recent years. It's a subject that was brought up to LSU Tigers head coach Brian Kelly at SEC Media Day on Monday. Kelly, the former head coach at Notre Dame, knows all about conference talk, having been the leader of a university that has been independent from the conferences for years. Here are Brian Kelly's words, per 247 Sports.

“It’s probably not high on my list of things to think about,” Kelly said. “I’ve been trying to correct a (golf) slice for the last couple of weeks, and I haven’t had much success with that, so I’m going to go back to my day job. But I would say that certainly Notre Dame is still a coveted university in terms of what conference would want them. (Athletic director) Jack Swarbick knows what he’s doing. He’s got his ear to the ground. They’re going to land in a good position no matter what they do — if they stay independent or whether they go into one of the other conferences. Notre Dame can carry itself pretty good.”

Brian Kelly joked about trying to fix his golf slice in recent weeks, emphasizing that the prospects of Notre Dame aren't what he thinks about anymore. Understandable, as the prospects of the LSU Tigers are now at the top of his list of priorities.

However, Kelly did go on to compliment the program, calling it a “coveted university.” The LSU boss finished up by saying that Notre Dame is “going to land in a good position no matter what they do.”

The Big-Ten has had interest in Notre Dame for some time, with the SEC also a rumored destination. Whatever college football conference the Fighting Irish end up in, Brian Kelly is confident they'll be in a good place.
