NBA fans have already seen plenty of jaw-dropping poster dunks in the first half of the season, but the latest entry from Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Anthony Edwards might just be the best one so far.

The first overall pick of last year's draft completely obliterated Yuta Watanabe in the closing seconds of the third quarter against the Toronto Raptors at Target Center on Friday.

Anthony Edwards thought about taking a corner triple before finding himself a free lane to the hoop. The 19-year-old supreme athlete got a running start to his launching pad and totally disregarded Watanabe's help defense. The end result is a sickening poster dunk that left both players on their backs from the sheer impact alone. Adding more salt to Watanabe's humiliating wound, he was also called for a foul on the process sending the Timberwolves toungster to the line for a freebie.

After being outshined by some of his fellow lottery picks early on, it seems that Edwards is slowly learning the ropes in the big leagues. Even NBA legend Dwyane Wade recently claimed that the 6-foot-4 Timberwolves guard has what it takes to be even better than him.

In 29 games prior to Friday's match versus the Raptors, Edwards has been tallying 14.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists for the lowly Timberwolves. The league, meanwhile, has yet to announce it's participants for the 20201 Slam Dunk Contest next month, and Edwards, for sure, should get an invite after this ridiculous slam.
