Minnesota Timberwolves stars Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell each purchased 1,000 tickets for Wednesday's game against the Charlotte Hornets.

The two All-Stars are offering them to fans for free on the Timberwolves' official website:

Russell is the type of All-Star player Towns was hoping new president of basketball operations Gersson Rosas would deliver to him. Rosas came through in a big way, even if it meant the Timberwolves had to part ways with fan favorite Robert Covington and former No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins.

With the Golden State Warriors this season, Russell averaged 23.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 6.2 assists while shooting 43.0 percent from the field, 37.4 percent from beyond the arc and 78.5 percent from the free-throw line. He's currently dealing with a quad injury and it's unknown when he'll make his Timberwolves debut.

The Timberwolves finally snapped their 13-game losing streak this past Saturday by defeating the Los Angeles Clippers. The Target Center had a lot of energy in it despite Russell being in street clothes. His presence, though, was enough to lift the spirits of the Timberwolves and their fan base.
