After the Philadelphia 76ers playoff exit at the hands of Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks, point guard Ben Simmons has been a hot topic of conversation. His playoff performance was bleak, and there have been reports of Simmons possibly on the market. One of the teams of interest would be the Minnesota Timberwolves, and they reportedly are extremely intrigued at the thought of bringing in Simmons.

The Timberwolves adding Simmons would be costly but would be beneficial in a big way. With Karl-Anthony Towns and Rookie of the Year runner-up Anthony Edwards, Simmons could step right in and hopefully propel the Wolves to a playoff team in the Western Conference.

Previously, the reported price tag for Simmons was outrageous and included multiple firsts. Either way, the Wolves will seriously consider making a trade for the Sixers star who was a Defensive Player of the Year finalist.

The Wolves had one of the worst records in the NBA at just 23-49 and have been on the wrong side of the NBA Draft boards for years. Adding a player such as Simmons– even with his abysmal playoff performance– would be a huge get for Minnesota.

As the trade rumors swirl and free agency approaches, it will be telling and it is very likely that Simmons' days with the Sixers are over.
