Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons has been much-maligned after the Sixers' playoff exit but rumors suggest he could get a fresh start with the Golden State Warriors.

Stephen A. Smith spilled the tea during an episode of ESPN's First Take, saying that the initial moves have already been conducted.

“I believe the Golden State Warriors are going to make a push for Ben Simmons … I’m not saying it’s gonna happen. But calls already have been made. Things are percolating.”

Work ethic and attitude are some of the things that teammates pick up amongst each other. But don't expect Ben Simmons to suddenly become a Splash Brother if this trade to the Warriors comes to fruition.

Time and again, he's put up cringe-worthy shooting numbers for the Sixers—at least from the charity stripe. It's so bad Simmons has been frequently targeted by the hack-a-Ben ploy in the final minutes of games. The Sixers managed to live with it in the regular season, but the playoffs proved to be a much different tactical monster.

For all the criticisms hurled towards Ben Simmons, people easily forget he's a multiple-time All-Star and an All-Defensive Team member.

The Warriors would have to rely on Steve Kerr to devise a plot that could hide Simmons from this strategy by opponents. It's not the easiest task in the world but the Warriors are stacked with high-IQ players at the top in Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.

The Sixers would be asking for a steep price, though, as such a move could bolster an already-loaded Warriors lineup for next season and beyond.
