Tennessee Titans fourth-round pick Rashad Weaver saw his childhood dream come true on Saturday when he was picked up in the 2021 NFL Draft.

But just one day before, a criminal complaint was filed against the former Pitt standout after he allegedly struck a woman, per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's John McGonigal.

According to the complaint, police found a female lying on the ground surrounded by a group of people around 2 am in the Pittsburgh area. Witnesses identified Weaver, 23, as the man who punched her.

According to the report, the two initially got into an argument at a nearby bar when Rashad Weaver got upset after the woman spilled a drink on him. Allegedly, he also said to other officers outside the bar prior to the incident that “He has no problem hitting a woman if they need it”.

This is obviously not a good look for the Titans draftee, who was an All-American last season. The edge rusher collected 14.5 tackles for loss in nine games, while also registering 7.5 sacks.

Tennessee released a statement regarding the news on Monday afternoon as well, per Joe Rexrode of the Athletic:

However, Weaver's attorney also released a statement, saying these allegations are completely false, Per Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network:

This is far from ideal for Rashad Weaver as he looks to begin an NFL career. Hopefully, the youngster still gets a shot at the professional level but we know how serious the NFL takes these types of situations. But until he's proven guilty or innocent, it's unknown how this will be handled.

A hearing for the case will take place on October 5th.
