Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry is currently operating under the parameters of the team's franchise tag as the surging AFC South franchise is still attempting to keep the former Heisman Trophy winner in Nashville for the long haul. While it appears as though the two sides will come to an agreement at some point, it still remains to be seen as to exactly how much money Henry ultimately secures with NFL running backs struggling to get paid over the course of the last few seasons.

However, at least one player in the Titans locker room believes that “King Henry” deserves a massive pay day this offseason. Tennessee's starting left tackle in Taylor Lewan continues to be a huge advocate for his teammate.

“From a business standpoint [and] a friend standpoint, it’s all the same for me,” Lewan recently said, via Sports Illustrated. “I think Derrick Henry is one of the hardest working guys on this team. It shows in his play. It shows in how he is with a bunch of guys on the team. And he’s definitely deserving.”

Notably leading the NFL in rushing yards last season, the dominant Henry now has until July 15th to agree to a long-term deal with the Titans. Thanks to Henry's effort from last season, the Titans reached the postseason. Not only that, but they won a pair of playoff games against the heralded New England Patriots and No. 1 seeded Baltimore Ravens before coming up just shy of an appearance in the Super Bowl.
