Tennessee Titans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney will be ruled out for the remainder of the 2020 NFL season after undergoing surgery to repair his left meniscus, as per NFL‘s Ian Rapoport.

The former South Carolina product was previously placed on the team's injured reserve list back on Nov. 21. The team initially expected Clowney to be back at some point for their upcoming postseason campaign. However, he will instead take the time to focus on his rehab that is projected to run through several months.

He last appeared on the field back on Nov. 13 in a Week 10 tilt against the Indianapolis Colts where he finished with three total tackles before ultimately being sidelined.

Clowney was acquired by the Titans to serve as a boost to the defensive side of the field after his services were secured to a price tag of a one-year, $13 million contract. The three-time Pro Bowler played in eight total games for the team and generated 19 total tackles without a sack recorded for the 2020 NFL season.

Despite his absence, the team still managed to snag two-straight victories in Weeks 11 and 12 as they dominated other playoff contenders in the Baltimore Ravens and the Colts, respectively. The Titans are looking to lock in a playoff seat as they are currently holding an impressive 8-3 record to sit atop the AFC South division through Week 13 proceedings.

According to Rapoport, the team's front office is not ruling out Jadeveon Clowney's potential return to the Tennessee Titans' camp for the 2021 NFL season.
