The Tennessee Titans removed defensive lineman Jurrell Casey from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list on Saturday, the team announced. Casey will be taking part in his first training camp after suffering a knee injury late into the 2018 season, specifically, an MCL.

A four-time Pro Bowler, Casey is a stalwart on the Titans' defensive line that got better in the 2019 offseason with the additions of Cameron Wake, Jeffrey Simmons, Brent Urban, and D'Andre Walker.

Casey has missed just three regular season games as a member of the Titans. In the span of eight seasons with the team — who drafted him in the third round in 2011 — Casey has amassed 46 sacks, 449 total tackles, 79 tackles for a loss, and 105 quarterback hits. For the third straight season, his peers voted him into the NFL Top 100.

In 2018, Casey played and started 15 games. According to Pro Football Focus, he ended the year with 27 run stops (fifth for defensive tackles) and a 91.7 run defense grade (seventh). He also finished the year with a high 87.1 overall grade; as the firm ranked him as the No. 61 player of 2018.

In late July, Casey noted, via 24/7 Sports' Dan Cotton, that he's excited about the 2019 and the prospect of winning,

“The biggest thing I’m looking at is trying to make it the playoffs, and trying to get to the Hall of Fame. I have been to the playoffs one time since I’ve been here. Our team has been good, winning nine games three years in a row. But we have to take it to another level. And I want to do my part to help get us there.”

With Casey now healthy, he can begin to do his part to help the Titans win big.
