It's been nearly three months since free agency started and defensive end Jadeveon Clowney still remains a free agent. However, there have been numerous teams that have recently expressed interest in Clowney, and one of those teams is the Tennessee Titans.
Titans All-Pro safety Kevin Byard has even advocated for the Titans to sign Clowney this offseason. In a recent appearance on NFL Network's ‘Good Morning Football,' Byard was asked about the Titans pursuit of signing Clowney this offseason. Here's what he said (h/t TitansWire):
This past offseason, the Titans focused on revamping their defensive line by signing veteran Vic Beasley to a $9.5 million deal. Adding a dominant player like Clowney to a defensive line that already includes Harold Landry and Jeffery Simmons will certainly give the Titans one of the pass-rushing groups in the NFL.
Clowney was reportedly seeking $20 million per season when free agency opened, but a new deal is now estimated somewhere in the $13-15 million range. Nevertheless, it'll come down to Titans general manager Jon Robinson to work out an agreement with Clowney.
