Former San Francisco 49ers All-Pro linebacker Patrick Willis believes highly in former teammate and Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker to come back from injury.

“He’s going to go out there and do his thing,” Willis said of Walker on Titansonline.com. “Delanie, that’s one person that if I had to put a lot of chips on, I’d bet on him every time. There’s something in him that makes him an amazing athlete, and he’s a great person as well. I have no doubt that he’s going to come back and be better than ever.”

Walker and Willis played on the 49ers from 2007-2012. But it was in Tennessee where Walker became one of the best tight ends in the NFL.

In six seasons with the Titans, Walker has caught 360 passes for 4208 yards and 26 touchdowns. His best year came in 2015 when he went for 1088 yards and six touchdowns on 94 receptions.

Walker went down with a devasting ankle injury in week one of the 2018 season, forcing him to miss the entire season.

Tennessee finished with a 9-7 record but missed out of the playoffs.

Marcus Mariota and the rest of the Titans' offense will benefit greatly if Walker comes back healthy, providing a reliable target.
