The New York Jets managed to come up with a win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6, but wide receiver Quincy Enunwa was forced to leave the game.

Enunwa suffered the injury on his lone reception during the second quarter. According to ESPN's Rich Cimini, he will have an MRI on Monday:

The New York Jets have a two-game winning streak for the first time in a year, but they could be without leading receiver Quincy Enunwa, who suffered a potentially serious injury to his right ankle.

Enunwa will have an MRI exam Monday to determine the extent of the damage.

The update certainly is not encouraging. Enunwa was seen limping off to the sideline after sustaining the injury. It appears he may be in worse shape than some had hoped.

If Enunwa is forced to miss an extended period of time, it will certainly deal a striking blow to this offense. Despite his struggles over the past few weeks, he has established himself as a safety net for quarterback Sam Darnold. He has racked up a team-leading 22 receptions for 287 yards and a touchdown this season. There is no overestimating the importance of having a go-to receiver for a rookie quarterback.

The receiving corps was already hobbled with Terrelle Pryor dealing with a groin injury. The pending status of Enunwa leaves New York incredibly shorthanded for the time being. Things will not get any easier next week when they square off against a talented Minnesota Vikings defense.
