The potential No. 1 pick in the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft in Trevor Lawrence has inked a multi-year endorsement deal with global cryptocurrency investment app Blockfolio, per Joe Pompliano. As a matter of fact, the quarterback's signing bonus will be paid in the form of cryptocurrency which will be directly deposited in his Blockfolio account.

Via Chris Cason of Forbes:

“We believe that Trevor is the future of football and we think that crypto is the future of finance,” said Blockfolio’s COO Sina Nader. “Trevor represents a lot of the promise and potential of football at the highest level, and we think that crypto represents the same thing at the highest level of finance.”

With several interested partners in the financial space eager to sign Trevor Lawrence, his interest in cryptocurrency ultimately led him to agree to a deal with Blockfolio. The two parties will also do charitable efforts aside from fulfilling the commercial aspect of their deal in the future. The company is hoping that Lawrence's stature as a top NFL prospect can help encourage the public to become more familiar and comfortable with using cryptocurrency.

Aside from inking a deal with Lawrence, Blockfolio is also aiming to target professional sports as an avenue for them to achieve mass adoption of cryptocurrency. FTX, the cryptocurrency exchange that powers the Blockfolio app, already secured a deal for the naming rights of the home arena of the Miami Heat back in late March. Through this engagement, they are looking to interact more with sports fans in a bid to increase their awareness regarding cryptocurrency.

The multi-year agreement between the two sides will not only benefit Trevor Lawrence's financial portfolio but will also help cryptocurrency penetrate better into the market moving forward.

More endorsements should come Trevor Lawrence's way once he officially becomes a pro. Just recently, he inked a deal with Gatorade. He's living the life right now.
