Trey Burke has been informed by the Utah Jazz that he will be traded to the Washington Wizards for a 2021 draft pick.

In an Instagram post by the 6-1 point guard, he shows his appreciation to Jazz fans and his former teammates for supporting him during his time with the organization. He also speaks of his level of excitement for suiting up with the Wizards, where he will see time backing up Wizards all-star guard John Wall. Burke may very well flourish in that role, as the pressure of carrying a franchise's future may have been too much to bear in Utah.

Burke, selected 9th overall in the 2013 NBA draft, averaged 10.6 points per game, and 2.3 assists for the Jazz during the 2015-2016 season. Once pegged as the future in Utah, Burke has struggled to stand out since drafted.
