LiAngelo Ball, younger brother of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball, explained alongside his father the reason he chose to leave UCLA after being pulled out from the school his father LaVar Ball swore by.

The middle son of the Ball family explained how his arrest came about during his trip to China

“We all went out one night, went through the malls, went through the Louis Vuitton store, then people started taking stuff and me being with them and not thinking, I took something too,” Ball told USA TODAY. who later recalled his one night in jail.

“I was there for a day and a half or something like that. It was horrible, they take your clothes, whatever you're wearing. They give you jumpsuits, take your shoestrings and then you sit on a cement cell for however long. It's just you and the officers and they don't speak English.”

Ball had yet to play a single regular season game with the Bruins, but even in scrimmages and off-schedule games, he came off the bench, unlike his brother Lonzo, who had the keys to the starting point guard job from day one.

He was suspended indefinitely for his actions, which proved too long to wait for the then-freshman.

“Yeah, that's the whole season, pretty much,” he said. “That's just a long time of doing nothing. I rather be playing.”

Three months ago, the 6-foot-5 guard was playing pick-up basketball with LeBron James, which only speaks as a testament of the school's recognition and what they can offer. Now he will join his 16-year-old brother LaMelo for pick-up games in their backyard, with his future in limbo as it is.
