Francis Ngannou shocked the UFC world on Saturday night when he defeated Cyril Gane via decision at UFC 270. Ngannou, typically a knockout artist, displayed previously unseen skill on the ground, managing a barrage of takedowns against Gane en route to his unanimous victory. Well, after his statement showing on Saturday, Ngannou appears to have his next opponent in mind. The Cameroonian took to Twitter to tease a potential bout between himself and heavyweight boxing star Tyson Fury.

The tweet was in response to Fury, who called out Ngannou after his UFC 270 victory, telling him that if he wants to “make some real money” Ngannou should step into the boxing ring for a bout with Fury, the Gypsy King. The tweet from Fury has since been deleted, but not before Ngannou caught wind of the challenge and posted the graphic teasing a potential fight.

Of course, this could very well just be some banter between two of the world's best fighters, but the prospect of an Ngannou-Fury clash would be quite the scene for fans.

Ngannou has long been angling for improved pay for UFC fighters. Saturday night's fight against Gane saw Ngannou pocket $600,000 before accounting for pay-per-view revenue and sponsorship money. Meanwhile, Fury's most recent boxing match, a trilogy fight against Deontae Wilder, saw the Gypsy King pocket a reported $30 million. It's no wonder Ngannou is keen on getting in the ring against Fury. Even an embarrassing loss could see Ngannou top his career UFC earnings in one boxing match.

Whether anything between the two heavyweights ever comes to fruition remains to be seen, but if Ngannou truly wants to earn the money he thinks he deserves, Fury knows his best bet is a boxing exhibition.
