The Denver Broncos finally secured their first win of the season, as they defeated the New York Jets on Friday, 37-28. Second-year quarterback Brett Rypien made his first career start for the Broncos, and the 24-year-old did not disappoint, helping his squad to a huge win. Unsurprisingly, Denver head coach Vic Fangio was happy with his QB's performance, which has him considering Rypien for another start.

With the Broncos set to face off against the New England Patriots in Week 5, Fangio was non-committal about a potential second consecutive start for Rypien. The 62-year-old shot-caller, however, seemed to like the idea.

“We've got some extra days here to think about it and take a look at the tape and thoroughly analyze it and go with what we think is best,” Fangio said, via Aric DiLalla of DenverBroncos.com.

While Fangio appeared to be generally pleased with Rypien's overall play, the unrelenting head coach still did not hold back with some constructive criticism:

“It was up and down, obviously,” Fangio said. “I thought there were some good things, and we hit some big plays, which is always important. But then throwing three interceptions, you're not going to win many times in this league. But we found a way to win tonight in spite of that, which I think is a reflection of the fight we have in this team and with these players.”

As for Rypien himself, he's just happy to have helped his team to victory:

“We'll see, that's obviously not up to me,” Rypien said. “I'm just really going to enjoy this win tonight and we'll cross that bridge when it comes.”

As he said above, starting against the Patriots next week is one of the last things on Brett Rypien's mind right now. But it definitely won't be surprising to see him out there once more.
