Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen has never missed a game in his NFL career, but he is in serious danger of being sidelined for his team's Week 8 matchup with the Washington Redskins on Thursday night due to a hamstring injury.

The good news is that Thielen is making good progress and could actually be available for the contest, with Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer saying that Thielen has “got a chance” to play, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Thielen suffered the injury while catching a 25-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter of Minnesota's win over the Detroit Lions this past Sunday.

On the season overall, Thielen has logged 27 catches for 391 yards and a league-leading six touchdowns.

The 29-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Minnesota State, went undrafted but eventually landed with the Vikings in 2014.

He played only scarcely during his rookie campaign, finishing with just eight catches for 137 yards and a touchdown, and the following year, he posted similar results, tallying 12 grabs for 144 yards.

Thielen then broke out in 2016, catching 69 passes for 967 yards and five scores, and the next season, he made his first Pro Bowl after hauling in 91 receptions for 1,276 yards while reaching the end zone four times.

The Detroit Lakes, Mn. native was even better in 2018, snaring 113 balls for 1,373 yards and nine touchdowns, earning his second straight Pro Bow appearance.

The Vikings have won three straight games to improve to 5-2 on the year and are one game behind the Green Bay Packers for first place in the NFC North.
