Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is always trying to improve his game. Even as he enters his ninth NFL season, the 31-year-old signal-caller is looking to add new skills and wrinkles to his game.

Per Sam Elkstrom of Zonecoverage.com, Cousins is looking to unlock his potential as a runner — something that has been pretty much absent from his career thus far.

Last season, Cousins helped lead the Vikings to a 10-5 regular-season record while completing 69.1 percent of his passes for 3,603 yards, 26 touchdowns and only six interceptions. Cousins' strong play led to him being named a Pro Bowler for the second time in his career and first time as a member of Minnesota.

However, as far as scrambling goes, the former fourth-round pick recorded 31 rushes for only 63 yards and one touchdown. With that being said, before Cousins came to the Vikings, he was able to show off that athleticism a bit more.

In three seasons as the full-time starter for the Washington Redskins, Cousins recorded an impressive 13 rushing touchdowns. While his yardage numbers weren't great, it's clear that the ability is there to be a threat running the ball every once in a while.

Coincidentally, the Vikings were one of the best running teams in the NFL last season, ranking sixth in both rushing yards per game and rushing touchdowns. If Kirk Cousins is able to tap into the running ability that he says he has, the Minnesota rushing attack will only become that much more dangerous and could take Cousins' game to the next level.
