The Minnesota Vikings were expected to do big things with big-money quarterback Kirk Cousins in 2018. However, Cousins was unable to lead Minnesota back to the postseason while the Vikings ultimately found themselves way behind the surging Chicago Bears, who went on to win the NFC North division.

With the 2019-20 offseason already in full swing, Cousins is looking to rebound in a major way en route to bringing the Vikings back into Super Bowl contention.

However, before even hitting the field, Cousins was up to his old ways of creating memorable quotes for the media. This time around, the former Washington Redskins quarterback noted that learning the Vikings' playbook is like … eating an elephant?

Despite the fact that the Vikings struggled in Cousins' first season in Minnesota, the former Michigan State Spartans standout didn't have that terrible of a year. In fact, Cousins' stats tell a different story as he threw for just under 4,300 yards to accompany his 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Over the course of all 16 regular season games in 2018-19, he produced a 61.9 QBR while completing a single-season career-high 70.1 percent of his passing attempts.

For his NFL playing career as a whole, which notably includes a six-year stint as a member of the Redskins, Cousins has thrown for just over 20,500 yards alongside 129 touchdowns and 65 interceptions. He was originally selected by Washington in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft out of Michigan State. The Redskins were unwilling to commit to Cousins long-term in the end, though.
