Josh Doctson has yet to make his debut with the Minnesota Vikings but that could soon change. According to Adam Caplan, Minnesota has activated Doctson off the injured reserve list.

Back in September, the Vikings signed Doctson following his release from the Washington Redskins. Unfortunately, the former first-round pick sustained a hamstring injury that forced Minnesota to place him on injured reserve.

After being on injured reserve for nearly two months, it appears as if Doctson is healthy enough to warrant a roster spot. Due to not being able to be on the field, the fourth-year wide receiver may have some catching up to do in Kevin Stefanski's offense.

Doctson began his career with the Redskins as the 22nd overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Coming out of TCU, many believed that Doctson was one of the best wide receivers in the 2016 draft class.

But his rookie season showed that he was going to need time to get acclimated into the NFL. In Doctson's rookie campaign, he finished with only two receptions for 66 yards.

Then, in his second and third seasons in Washington, Doctson finally became a starter in the offense. Despite his promotion, Doctson never displayed the potential that was once there in college.

Altogether, Doctson combined for 79 receptions, 1,034 yards, and eight touchdowns in his final two years with the Redskins. As a result of him failing to reach his potential, the Redskins released him after training camp came to a close in August.

Now, Doctson will look to aid the Vikings at wide receiver while Adam Thielen continues to recover from his own hamstring injury. With Doctson just coming off of injured reserve, it may take some time for Minnesota to give him a chance to make a difference in the offense.
