Heading into the upcoming offseason, the Minnesota Vikings have a major decision on their hands in deciding their future at the quarterback position.

All three of Minnesota's quarterbacks (Case Keenum, Sam Bradford, and Teddy Bridgewater) are set to become free agents over the next several weeks.

With that in mind, general manager Rick Spielman stated that the team's next offensive coordinator will have some say in who is ultimately chosen to play under center in 2018, according to Eric Smith of Vikings.com.

“He’ll have a major part of the decision-making process. He’ll be heavily involved in that,” Spielman said. “The way that we structure everything is that everybody has a part in that process … myself, Coach Zimmer, our scouting department and all of our coaches.

From the sounds of it, what direction the team plans to head with their quarterback situation will ultimately be made by the group as a whole. Although Keenum performed quite well with the starting job this past season, there isn't a strong sense that the Vikings will offer him a lucrative deal to make him the starter long-term.

On the flip side, there has been much praise from Vikings players and coaches for Bridgewater and how he has looked in his return from a dislocated knee and torn ACL suffered back in August 2016. Bridgewater is viewed as the most likely QB to return next season due to his upside and age.

Bradford looks to have the most unclear future in Minnesota among the three quarterbacks. He missed almost all of the 2018 season due to a knee injury caused by the wear and tear from two ACL surgeries. Bradford has shown glimpses of promise, but injuries have played a big part of his tenure with the Vikings. All of this only further underlines the difficulty in the decision that lies ahead for the front office.

Of course, they could also go in a completely different direction.
