The legendary Charles Barkley has opened up about how he feels the Golden State Warriors will fare in the 2020-21 season. In his mind, the Dubs have a “huge advantage” heading into the new campaign.

According to Barkley, Golden State's biggest advantage is the rest that they get after not being invited in the Orlando bubble. For him, the additional time will allow the Dubs and their players to heal properly and plan for the upcoming season.

“I think they're gonna have a huge advantage because they're gonna get rest and get Klay (Thompson) and Steph (Curry) back,” Charles Barkley said of the Warriors, via Marcus White of NBC Sports. “(Andrew) Wiggins is gonna be there, they're gonna get a lottery pick. These other teams are gonna be tired. … It's gonna be a quick turnaround, one way or the other.

“Even if [the NBA says] they're gonna move [the season] back, it's still gonna be a quick turnaround. I think [the Dubs] are gonna have a huge advantage going into next season.”

Barkley's statement is not something fans have heard for the first time, but he is not wrong here. For the Dubs, the best thing about what has been an awful 209-20 season is that it is over. A healthy Warriors side is fully expected to mount a title challenge, and with the tools they have at their disposal, experts are giving them pretty good odds.

It is worth noting that Warriors forward Draymond Green was a guest panelist on the Inside the NBA program when Barkley made his statement, and as it appears, these two have put their rather contentious past behind them.

It remains to be seen how Steve Kerr and his squad will perform in 2019-20, though it is almost a certainty that they will take full advantage of their extra rest.
