Sacramento, CA – A mass shooting in Sacramento occurred early Sunday morning. The shooting left six people dead and at least 10 injured. The Sacramento Bee said it was the worst mass shooting in Sacramento’s history, leaving people from the Golden State to the east coast in shock.

The crime took place after many were leaving the local nightclubs. A night full of fun turned into a horrific night that people will never forget. Several rounds of gunfire sent people scattering in the streets full of fear.

One firearm was found at the crime scene but no arrests have been reported. The tragedy happened downtown near the Golden 1 Center, where the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors play tonight.

Before the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr opened up about the careless act.

“I'm so so sorry for the victims and their families,” Kerr said to the media. “My family has gone through the same thing. We know how devastating it is. It's just life-changing. Everything changes from here for all the victim's families.”

Kerr’s father was gunned down by a terrorist in Beirut in 1984, so the future Hall of Fame coach is never shy about speaking on the subject of gun violence.

”A couple of years ago, a madman sat in a hotel room in Las Vegas, and open fire with semi-automatic fire on people at a concert,” Kerr told ClutchPoints. “Can we do anything about it? The House tried to (but) the Senate refused to even look at it. So at some point, I would hope that we would actually think about our fellow citizens and do something about it instead of play politics.”

There will be a moment of silence for the victims of the heinous crime, but Kerr and many believe that's not enough.
