San Francisco, CA – The king of the three-point shot is back on the court. Stephen Curry made his return for Game 1 of the Golden State Warriors matchup against the Denver Nuggets. The two-time MVP winner didn't start, but he played 21 minutes and scored 16 points on 5-of-13 shooting from the field and 3-of-6 from deep. After practice Sunday morning, Steve Kerr gave the media an update on his star guard's status for Game 2.

“He's doing pretty well,” Kerr told ClutchPoints. “I talked to him a little while ago. He came out last night well. He's going to get shots up today and get a little more work but should be good to go for tomorrow.”

Coach Kerr wouldn't tell if he plans on starting Curry for tomorrow's game. But the way things went yesterday, it's a good chance he comes off of the bench again. The Warriors dominated the Nuggets in Curry’s return. Golden State beat Denver 123-107 and controlled the game most of the night.

The Warriors were led in scoring by Jordan Poole, who had a game-high 30 points in his playoff debut. He was followed by Klay Thompson, who added 19 in the win. It was the first playoff game for the Warriors since 2019.

The Warriors took Game 1, and they're expecting to get a much better effort from the Nuggets in Game 2. A win for Denver would give them the home-court advantage, something the Warriors do not want to give up. So it's safe to expect a hard-fought battle between two talented squads.
