Much has been said about the much-anticipated return of Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson. For the most part, reports have been speculative on his comeback date. But it seems one person gave a pretty telling hint: Thompson himself.

After joining the Warriors' shootaround for the game against the Miami Heat on Monday night, Thompson headed back to the locker room. The cameras, however, caught him holding up six fingers as he was exiting. Quite fittingly, NBC Sports asked what needed to be asked.

Reports have circulated that Thompson will finally lace up once again on Sunday against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Chase Center. It should be one heck of a welcome for the five-time All-Star who has missed the last two seasons due to back-to-back serious injuries. Just imagining Thompson burying his first bucket after his long hiatus and the entire Warriors arena going into a wild frenzy should already give goosebumps.

To say that Thompson missed hooping would be a massive understatement. While he's always been chill and almost stoic about his situation, it's safe to assume that he's itching to return, especially considering his competitive spirit.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr earlier said he's not planning to bring Thompson off the bench. While the sharpshooting guard is expected to have some rust, the NBA will simply be a better place when he finally makes his comeback. Everyone's counting down the days. Or fingers.
