Shortly after the Golden State Warriors booked their place in the NBA Finals, Draymond Green came out with a bold prediction about their opponents. The Dubs star was adamant that they were going to face the Boston Celtics in the Finals. This did not sit well with the Miami Heat, who at that point were down 3-2 in the series.

Green's prophecy eventually came to fruition but it wasn't until the Heat upset the odds in Game 6 in Boston. This was right after Green predicted that they were going to be eliminated, so naturally, the Heat had to clap back at the Warriors star.

Green has now come out with his explanation behind his bold Finals prediction. The Warriors talisman admitted that he was stunned by how the Heat were able to steal the game away in the TD Garden in Game 6:

“I thought there was no chance,” Green said on The Colin Cowherd Podcast (h/t of Jonathan Sherman of Heat Nation). “Obviously, Jimmy Butler had one of those Jimmy Butler-type games that we all now know that he’s capable of, and we didn’t just figure that out with that game. We been knew Jimmy was capable of that. … The reality is, if he didn’t get 49, they didn’t have a chance of winning. He had 35 last night, no chance at winning. But I was extremely shocked that they were able to go in without Tyler Herro and go into Boston and win Game 6. I thought there was no chance.”

After a bit of a hiccup, Green turned out to be right. He got his wish and the Warriors are now set to face Jayson Tatum and the Celtics in what should be an epic Finals series.
