One decent outcome from the (suspended) 2019-20 NBA season for the Golden State Warriors was a great shot at the top pick in the upcoming 2020 NBA Draft. With the worst record in the league, at 15-50, the Dubs have a 14.0 percent chance to secure the first overall pick and a 52.1 percent chance at a top-four pick.

However, should they land a high pick, Warriors co-owner Joe Lacob acknowledged the possibility of the Western Conference franchise trading down in the draft.

“Of course the bad part about all of this is we're not able to interview or get people to come in for workouts or watch the NCAA Tournament. It's gonna be interesting. I think there's enough information out there — and enough work being put in on our side — that we'll be able to make a good decision,” the Warriors boss said on The Athletic's “The TK Show” this week (via NBC Sports Bay Area).

“We're gonna look at all scenarios Honestly. I'm not gonna hide this — we're gonna look at drafting someone at our position. Maybe we trade down — that's a possibility. I'm not saying it's preferred or not preferred. I'm just saying it's something we have to look at it.”

The Warriors haven't picked higher than the 28th overall selection in the past five drafts due to five consecutive NBA Finals appearances, including three title victories.

While the chance to take a top pick like Anthony Edwards, James Wiseman, LaMelo Ball and other prospects is tempting, perhaps the best course is to let another take a crack at a top pick while the Warriors recoup a future draft pick.
