The return of James Wiseman was one of the more highly anticipated aspects of the Golden State Warriors' 2021-22 season. But much like Zion Williamson in New Orleans, his debut has been pushed back far enough to the point that he has become a relative afterthought for the Dubs' current plans.

While the talent and immense potential remains for James Wiseman, it's just unrealistic to expect a youngster who hasn't even played 40 games in the NBA yet to be a serious part of the Warriors' push for another championship. Based on a recent report from Kendra Andrews of ESPN, at least one Warriors coach believes that to be the case.

Still, one Warriors coach told ESPN that it's highly unlikely that Wiseman will be a big part of the Warriors' rotation, particularly in the playoffs. They want to plug him into specific situations but don't believe he'll be ready to take on the brunt of the work down low right away. Instead, they want him to get ready to be an integral part of the team next season.

Golden State is seriously undermanned in the frontcourt, with Kevon Looney being the lone active big man while guys like Nemanja Bjelica and Juan Toscano-Anderson try to steal minutes in the interior.

However, it's the big men like James Wiseman who often take time to adapt to the pace of the NBA game compared to the rest of their peers. It'll be hard to expect him to deliver quality minutes when the spotlights are on him to perform for the Warriors in the postseason.
