The Golden State Warriors are once again in the NBA Finals. However, the five-time defending Western Conference Champion Warriors will be without superstar forward Kevin Durant for the team's upcoming Game 1 matchup against the Toronto Raptors.

Because of Durant's lingering injury troubles, which date back to the last round of the postseason, the two-time NBA Finals MVP has been excused from Finals Media Day, the league announced on Tuesday evening.

On the other hand, it is also worth noting that the Warriors have encountered a string of injury troubles this postseason as both Durant and former All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins have missed the majority of the playoffs.

Nonetheless, the Warriors have still been able to relatively easily dispatch of the Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers thus far.

With Durant officially ruled out for Thursday evening's Game 1 matchup in Oakland, the aforementioned Cousins is currently being listed as questionable. Cousins notably sustained a nagging quad injury in Game 2 of the team's first round series against the Clippers.

As for Durant, he originally strained his calf in Game 5 of Golden State's second round series against the Rockets and has not returned to the court since.

While the banged up Warriors have now reached the NBA Finals for the fifth consecutive season, Golden State is seeking the franchise's fourth title over the course of that same span.

The Raptors, though, have become Eastern Conference Champions for the very first time en route to reaching the NBA Finals for the first time in the team's history.
