Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson appears to be well on track to make his highly anticipated return in December.

According to NBA reporter Jordan Schultz, Thompson is making “steady progress” in his recovery from a torn Achilles that prevented him from his comeback in 2020-21. The other half of Splash Bros. is also said to be in “great shape” as he nears playing 5-on-5, which should be his final hurdle before being cleared to return to game action.

As Schultz noted as well, Klay Thompson is five to six weeks away, which fits well with the recent report by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN saying that the Warriors sharpshooter is poised to suit up on December 20 or December 25.

The Warriors play the Sacramento Kings on December 20, while they visit the Phoenix Suns on Christmas for another Holiday showdown.

Thompson's progress is undoubtedly music to the ears of Warriors fans who have been waiting for the 31-year-old guard for over two seasons now. Klay first injured his left knee ACL during the 2019 Finals, and as he was set to suit up in 2020-21 after sitting out the previous year, he suffered the devastating torn Achilles.

For what it's worth, though, the Warriors are 11-1 on the season with Stephen Curry leading the way. They have been on absolute tear behind the MVP-caliber play of Curry, which is why many are excited how they will transform for the better when Thompson wears that Golden State jersey again.
