Sometimes, it's the littlest things in life that can make us the happiest. Look no further than Golden State Warriors star shooting guard Klay Thompson and the cake of his beloved dog, Rocco, that he got on Thursday night for his birthday.

According to a video posted by Mark Medina of the Mercury News prior to the Warriors' 121-103 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, Thompson had a replica cake made of the bulldog that was given to him for his 28th birthday.

Even Warriors' head coach Steve Kerr was impressed with how the cake turned out, according to an article written by Melissa Rohlin of the Mercury News.

“I just told Klay it’s the greatest birthday cake I’ve seen in my life. I didn’t know they could make cakes like that,” coach Kerr said. “How do you cut into that? I don’t even think Klay will be able to look at anybody cutting into Rocco like that.”

Well, coach Kerr, you might've been wrong. Thompson apparently had a plan of what to do with the cake to see how Rocco would react to it once he brought it home.

“I was thinking of cutting his head straight off, just samurai style,” Thompson said of the cake. “But I’m actually curious so I want to keep it in full cake mode until I go home. He’ll probably try to eat it. Let’s be realistic.”

That's hilarious. Always have to appreciate a great sense of humor and such a strong bond between a man and his dog.
