After several weeks of speculation, NBA Top Shot officially announced on Monday that they have struck a deal with Golden State Warriors superstar Klay Thompson to be the brand's next player-partner. Thompson has hand-picked a number of plays from his favorite players to feature in Top Shot's next drop for the highly-popular Game Recognize Game set, which is scheduled to drop this Thursday.

Not only did Thompson personally hand-pick the six moments that will be included in this second iteration of the GRG set, but the Warriors superstar will also be narrating each moment as well. The players featured in this drop are Thompson's Dubs teammate Draymond Green, Derrick Rose, Paul George, Zach LaVine, DeMarcus Cousins, and Gordon Hayward.

Of course, Thompson will also have his own moment for the set but it will be an earnable reward for collectors who are able to complete the GRG challenge. While the mechanics of the challenge have yet to be announced, the general expectation is that it will require all new GRG moments (the six players mentioned above) and any Klay Thompson moment on Top Shot. This was the same format followed by the previous GRG challenge that featured Klay's former Warriors teammate in Kevin Durant.

Below are the details of the upcoming pack drop:

  • The pack will drop on Thursday, April 7th at 12 pm PDT.
  • The pack will cost $19 each and will contain one (1) guaranteed GRG moment and three (3) Series 3 Base Set moments.
  • There will be 50,000 packs available on this drop.
  • Each new GRG moment is going to be minted as a 10,000 Common Limited Edition moment.
  • There will be no Collector Score requirement for this pack. Each collector will be limited to one (1) pack per purchase but there will be an option to rejoin the queue while supply remains.
