Klay Thompson's dad, Mychal Thompson, predicts that the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors will meet in the 2020 Western Conference Finals.

The Lakers acquired superstar big man Anthony Davis this summer, giving LeBron James the second star he needs to contend for a championship. Los Angeles also signed Danny Green, Jared Dudley, Quinn Cook, Avery Bradley and Troy Daniels in free agency.

The Warriors, meanwhile, lost two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant and 2015 Finals MVP Andre Iguodala in free agency. They will also be without Klay Thompson for the majority of the 2019-20 season due to the ACL injury he suffered in the 2019 Finals.

Golden State, however, lessened the blow of its losses by acquiring All-Star point guard D'Angelo Russell from the Brooklyn Nets in the Durant sign-and-trade deal. Furthermore, the Warriors traded for Omari Spellman from the Atlanta Hawks and signed Willie Cauley-Stein, Glenn Robinson III and Alec Burks in free agency.

Mychal Thompson, who does radio for the Lakers, is still riding with the Warriors to meet the Purple and Gold in the conference finals despite the Dubs losing Durant and the fact that his son will miss a big chunk of the season.

The Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers and Utah Jazz are going to have something to say about who is playing in the Western Conference Finals next season.

The Clippers signed Kawhi Leonard and acquired Paul George this summer from the Oklahoma City Thunder; the Rockets traded for former MVP Russell Westbrook; the Jazz finally got their point guard in Mike Conley; and the Nuggets kept their core and added Jerami Grant in the hopes of improving from their second round playoff exit last season.

The West is going to be a bloodbath in 2019-20. Whichever team stays healthy is probably going to win the conference and advance to the NBA Finals.
