Marquese Chriss signed a two-way deal with the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, only a week after the team announced it would waive him to make room for swingman Damion Lee.

While Lee took his roster spot and recently inked a three-year deal with the team, Chriss was able to occupy the vacant two-way spot, now with 23 days of eligibility to take part in games and practice with the NBA team.

Chriss was greeted by a happy Stephen Curry and the rest of his teammates, still one of the more popular guys in the locker room. After his signing became official, Chriss explained what the last week of incertitude was like after playing for three different teams in the past year:

“It feels good, man. I feel welcome, I feel wanted … I'm just glad to be back and be a part of the team,” said Chriss. “I knew I wanted to be back here, but I didn’t know logistically how it would work out or if it would even be possible. But thankfully I am here and things worked out the way they were supposed to.”

Besides an opportunity to fill in at center, Chriss can also get some run in the G League with the Warriors' affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, which will only bode well for his conditioning and the prospect of remaining with the team after this season.

The Warriors have a history of developing their assets and signing them to full-fledged deals, as they've done with Quinn Cook, Alen Smailagic (drafted in July), and now Lee. Chriss stands that same chance if he keeps performing to the Warriors' expectations.
