DeMarcus Cousins of the Golden State Warriors got to appear in his first contest since his full Achilles tear on January 26th with the New Orleans Pelicans. His first points were courtesy of a ferocious slam dunk.

Adam Pantozzi of NBA Entertainment got a perfect shot of his dunk where the Clippers players seem to have just stared at Cousins.

DeMarcus Cousins had joined the New Orleans Pelicans two years ago when the Sacramento Kings traded him away for a package centered on Buddy Hield. Cousins had the opportunity to join up with Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday and make a deep playoff run. Even though the team had a lack of defensive depth on the wing, they still were able to sneak into the playoffs. If they had Cousins, they could've gone far. Unfortunately, the team had to move on.

Cousins had signed on the Warriors for only $5 million because he had the opportunity of a lifetime. It allowed him to rehab his injury fully then come back for a playoff run. Cousins had never played in a playoff series, so this is a huge opportunity for him to finally get that chance.

The Warriors have struggled to start the season but they have regained their footing and are now on top of the Western Conference standings. With Kevin Durant in a contract year, the Warriors may be looking at their last run with the back-to-back Finals MVP. Cousins may be a huge part in securing their fourth championship in over five years.
