Golden State Warriors guard Shaun Livingston has announced that this could be his final NBA season as he contemplates whether to return to the league next year:

Livingston has one of the best success stories in the NBA.

Taken as the fourth pick in the 2004 draft by the Los Angeles Clippers, the lanky guard was a highly rated prospect. After three mediocre seasons, he suffered one of the worst televised NBA injuries, snapping his left leg in half.

Instead of calling it quits, Livingston worked tirelessly to renew his career. After playing bench minutes for seven franchises in eight years, he finally found a home in Golden State.

Livingston has spent the last five seasons with the Warriors and won three championships with the team. Even though he doesn't have the star power of the more recognizable players on the team, he was integral in providing quality guard minutes off the bench when Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson took breathers.

In a league that emphasizes three-pointers more than ever, Livington is one of the few guards in the league who provides quality minutes without shooting the ball from deep. Instead, he focuses on his patented midrange jumper and helping the offense flow. On defense, he provides yet another lengthy body to switch on to multiple positions.

Livingston rebuilt his entire career and became an NBA champion on one of the best teams in history. Capping it off with yet another ring would make his comeback even sweeter and put the last touches on a great run.
