Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry is known to be an avid golfer. The sport may be his hobby. But he admits that he's actually more nervous playing in golf tourneys than in the NBA Finals.

Per Adam Kramer of Bleacher Report, Stephen Curry — who has participated in the 2017 and 2018 Ellie Mae Classic golf tournaments — admitted that he's a lot more jittery holding his golf club than a basketball.

“I've played in NBA Finals, I've played in world championships and played with Team USA. I've played in a lot of big games. There is no comparison to how nervous I was on the first tee, standing there with other professionals, trying to compete.”

For some context, Stephen Curry has played in 28 NBA Finals games in his 11-year career. This included one do-or-die Game 7 during their 73-win regular season. The 32-year-old also represented the US in various world tourneys. He's a two-time FIFA World Cup gold medalist.

Given his obsession with golf, many are wondering if Stephen Curry will take the sport seriously after his basketball career. As a professional athlete himself, he knows how much dedication he has to put in.

“The amount of time you've got to put into being a professional golfer, I don't know if I would ever want to go down that path after my basketball career,” he says. “But you can never say never.”

Apart from participating in tourneys, Stephen Curry has helped the sport grow. Last year, he financially backed the golf programs men's and women's golf programs at Howard University, which disbanded way back in the 1970s. But thanks to the three-time NBA champ, the clubs are swinging once again.
