What a crazy day it has been for basketball.

Just when you thought LeBron James taking his talents to California was the headline of the year, a few hours later, arguably the worst brawl in the history of basketball took place more than 7,000 miles away in Manila as a FIBA Qualifying match between the Philippines and Australia made “Malice at the Palace” look like a CM Punk mixed martial arts card.

But once again, just a few hours removed from that incident, in came a shocker — DeMarcus Cousins has decided to sign with the reigning NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors, upsetting the already heavily distorted balance of power in the league, and virtually ensuring that the 2019 NBA trophy will be going to (or staying in) the Bay Area.

An All-Star, a double-double monster, and arguably the best center in the league for mid-level money on a team that already has four All-Stars? Naturally, everyone can't stop talking about it. Comparisons have been made with his salary to inferior players, and there appears to be an unofficial sport on who can do a better reaction to the signing with fans and players alike all going viral.

You can add his future teammate, Stephen Curry, to the mix.

The long-distance sniper couldn't stop gushing about his potential pick and pop/roll partner, posting at least three tweets about the big man including a callback to their Team USA practice years back in which the 6-foot-11 center referred to himself as the third “Splash Brother” as he sank outside shots.

And lastly, the sweet sound of the ball swishing the net – as we're bound to see months from now.
