Since missing last Monday's game in a starter-depleted loss to the Sacramento Kings, Stephen Curry has undergone a major adjustment after suffering a right hand contusion and a swollen ring finger during a 15-point win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Golden State Warriors sharpshooter could be seen bandaged over the past three games, as his hand wrap is the only thing protecting him from suffering any major contact in that area.

“The pain is what it is. The more you have to play through it, the more you have to block it out,” Curry said, according to Mark Medina of the San Jose Mercury News. “It’s more so just getting used to the wrap and tape and all that stuff. If you go playing your whole career without having anything on your shooting hand to what’s necessary for me to play, it takes some getting adjusted to.”

Curry seemed to have made his most prominent adjustment against the Miami Heat on Sunday, pouring in a cool 30 points in three quarters before taking the rest of the night off in a 28-point rout. Curry shot an extra-efficient 11-of-16 from the floor and 5-of-9 from deep — a much better performance than his two recent 9-of-20 outings against the Los Angeles Lakers and the Orlando Magic.

“It seemed like it just took that one game where he struggled in L.A.,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “Last two games obviously looks great. So I think he’s made the adjustment.”

Curry started a woeful 4-of-12 against the Lakers, but finished strong, making five of his last eight field goals, including all three of his attempts in the overtime period.

While the former MVP might have to make a few changes like finishing at the rim with his left and trying to create more separation in jump shots to avoid contact, he believes he's finding the ground to make it all work.

“I got to make some shots. I haven’t made some 3’s. I might as well make some 2’s,” Curry joked. “That’s basically it. Nothing magic. No secret sauce to it. Trying to be efficient.”
