There is no doubt that Stephen Curry is one of the most popular players of the last couple of years. He is one of the most followed on social media like Twitter and Instagram. His popularity is also reflected come All-Star Weekend time, as in recent memory Curry has also been one of the most voted by fans, fellow players, and media to participate in the NBA All-Star Game. This year will mark Curry's fifth All-Star appearance — all as a starter — and fifth straight since 2014.

According to ESPN Stats & Info on Twitter, Curry will start in his 5th straight All-Star game, passing Wilt Chamberlain for the most consecutive All-Star game starts in Warriors history. Chamberlain was an All-Star starter for the Warriors from 1960 to 1964. He then played as a reserve in 1965 but started once again in 1966. Before 1967's game, Chamberlain was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers and represented them in the All-Star game despite playing a portion of the season in San Francisco.

The 29-year old is the lead vote-getter amongst all Western Conference players this year. His popularity over the last few seasons is due to a combination of factors: his unusual and absolutely ridiculous ability to hit 3-pointers in the least imaginable situations from essentially anywhere past half-court, his Warriors becoming the best team in the NBA, and shattering all sorts of individual and collective records.

This is one more accolade for Curry's showcase that already includes a couple of MVP trophies, a couple of rings, a scoring championship, multiple All-NBA selections, etc. The All-Star game might not be the only time we see Curry during All-Star week, as he will probably be invited to the 3-point shootout, another event he has already conquered before.
