Well, as J. Cole puts it in his new hit “My Life”, Ja Morant was in fact on his Grizzly against the Golden State Warriors. That’s basically the reason Stephen Curry jumped on an IG live with the multi-award-winning rapper after his team lost a nailbiter to the Grizzlies in OT on Friday night to end their season.

While Steph dropped 39, Morant’s 35 points ultimately played a massive part in Memphis clinching a spot in the first round of the 2021 NBA Playoffs, hitting some clutch buckets down the stretch. The Warriors star meanwhile, was straight vibing with Cole post-game, making the joke that there is no better way to start the offseason than with the man himself who literally just released an album called “The Offseason.”

Clearly, the two are buddies. Cole himself is taking a shot at hooping, recently playing in the Basketball Africa League for the Rwanda Patriots. As for Curry, he’ll be disappointed the Warriors didn’t make it into the postseason, but it was truly a historic campaign for the veteran guard.

He won the scoring title after averaging 32 points per game, narrowly edging our Wizards star Bradley Beal. The level of consistency Curry showed all season long was extremely impressive and there’s little doubt he’ll also get some MVP votes.

The Warriors may have been eliminated, but they frankly did it to themselves. Golden State committed 41 turnovers across their two play-in games against the Lakers and Grizzlies, which ultimately hurt them in the end.

Nevertheless, Stephen Curry looks ready to enjoy the offseason where he’ll aim to get even better and make a run at the playoffs in 2022 with his running mate Klay Thompson back on the floor.
