Fans of the Golden State Warriors are curious to see when rookie James Wiseman will become a permanent fixture in the starting lineup. However, while speaking about the rookie center, Steve Kerr hinted at Wiseman starting as soon as Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets on opening night, per The Athletic's Anthony Slater.

Before deciding whether or not Wiseman will start, it remains to be seen if Wiseman is able to even play on Tuesday. The first-year center out of Memphis had been absent for the majority of Golden State's training camp due to COVID-19.

Nevertheless, Wiseman was able to go through scrimmages with the Warriors over the weekend, which indicates he's trending in the right direction.

Seeing that Draymond Green could be held out of the season opener versus the Nets, James Wiseman could be crucial for the Warriors. The 7-foot-1 center is expected to become a reliable rim protector and an athletic big man in Golden State's rotation.

In his only three collegiate games at Memphis, Wiseman averaged 19.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game. Ever since the Warriors took Wiseman with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft,  Steve Kerr has been extremely complimentary of the young center.

With Golden State not having Klay Thompson available this season, they'll need contributions from everyone else not named Stephen Curry. Taking that into account, Kerr realizes that Wiseman is the future starting center for the Warriors.

However, it's undetermined if Wiseman will draw his first career start when the Dubs square off with the Nets.
