Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says speculation surrounding star small forward Kevin Durant's return from his injury “needs to slow down.”

Durant suffered a right calf strain in Game 5 against the Houston Rockets in the second round. The former MVP isn't expected to play in Games 1 or 2 of the Western Conference Finals versus the Portland Trail Blazers:

Multiple doctors have said Durant will miss at least two weeks of action. The Warriors are hoping KD will return by Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, but that may be too optimistic.

Durant has arguably been the best player in the entire 2019 playoffs. He's averaging 34.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game while shooting 51.3 percent from the field, 41.6 percent from beyond the arc and 90.1 percent from the free-throw line.

The Warriors counted their blessings when they found out Durant didn't tear his Achilles. That's the injury everyone thought Durant sustained at first. Golden State will need Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala to carry the load offensively until Durant returns to the lineup.

Curry scored 33 points in Game 6 against the Rockets, Thompson put up 27, Green had eight points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, and Iggy registered 17 points.

The Warriors will be favored to beat the Blazers without Durant, but the team obviously wants KD back as soon as possible.
