Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green got ejected in the second quarter of their Game 1 against the Memphis Grizzlies, raising confusion among his NBA peers on the controversial nature of the call. The likes of Trae Young, Donovan Mitchell, Damian Lillard and more couldn't help but question the decision, which was seemingly rooted on Green's reputation.

On Twitter, Lillard wanted an explanation and further clarity on what warrants a Flagrant 2. Meanwhile, Young suspected that it was Green who's being officiated rather than the play.

As for Mitchell's part, he was just shocked that the call was a Flagrant 2.

With less than two minutes remaining before halftime, Draymond Green was ejected for hitting Brandon Clarke in the face grabbing his jersey while he was airborne. While it's a dangerous play, many believe that it should have just been a Flagrant 1 instead of a 2 considering that there doesn't seem to be anything excessive with the foul. Not to mention that many believe there was no malicious intention, with the Warriors forward even slowing down the fall of Clarke by trying to catch him.

Aside from Trae Young, Donovan Mitchell and the other stars, the likes of JaVale McGee and Miles Bridges could help but comment as well. Simply put, they don't seem to believe the foul should have ejected Green.

Warriors star Stephen Curry himself was not happy with the call, telling the referees that it's “fu***ng crazy” that Green was thrown out. Even Dray's mother came to the defense of her son as she slammed the referees with her “REFSSUCK” hashtag.

Fortunately for the Warriors, they were able to survive the Grizzlies and take the victory for the 1-0 series lead. Had they lost, the major talking point would have been how Memphis won bnecause of a controversial call that doomed Golden State.
