The Golden State Warriors are holding their collective breaths after center DeMarcus Cousins suffered what is already being perceived as a torn quad.

Well, judging by the photo that's making its rounds on social media, it looks like Cousins' injury may very well be serious.

DeMarcus Cousins suffered the injury in the first quarter of Game 2 of their first round playoff series against the Los Angeles Clippers. He chased a loose ball, but suddenly went down to hold his thigh. He limped towards the bench and headed straight to the locker room.

He did not return to the game.

Although Cousins is set to get an MRI tomorrow, there's already a growing concern from around the league that he might have torn his quad. If he does have that injury, he will be missing the rest of the playoffs. He could also be looking at a recovery timetable of up to 6-12 months.

Cousins just returned last January after missing almost an entire year while recovering from a torn Achilles he suffered last season with the New Orleans Pelicans. He's been impressive for the Warriors over the past three months, averaging 16.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.

While this is not seen as a major blow to the Warriors' three-peat aspirations, it could certainly hurt Cousins' career moving forward.
