The Golden State Warriors are expected to return to being contenders next season, and Steve Kerr is confident the team could improve personnel-wise.

In an interview with The Athletic's Tim Kawakami, Kerr revealed why he believes the Warriors are an attractive landing spot for free agents.

“Oh, I think so,” the Warriors coach told Tim Kawakami of The Athletic when asked if the Dubs will be able to attract players in the offseason (h/t NBC Sports). “I think there are a few reasons. At the top of the list is playing with our current players — with Steph [Curry], Klay [Thompson], Draymond [Green]. They make it the most attractive.

In the 2019-20 season, the Warriors didn't perform up to their recent standards due to Klay Thompson recovering from a knee injury and Stephen Curry missing all but five games in the season. Not to mention, the departure of Kevin Durant left Golden State searching for another star in the offense.

Kerr knows that stars in the NBA — more so than other sports — can convince other players to join forces on a certain team.

“In the modern NBA, players are the biggest drivers in recruitment. But I think people also recognize that we have a strong organization, we have a beautiful new arena, we have a great place to live, we have organizational stability,” the Warriors coach added.

At the same time, as the Warriors are rumored as a team that could acquire another superstar this offseason, Kerr knows Joe Lacob doesn't shy away from spending money or making moves that can better the roster.

“And we have an owner who is willing to spend whatever it takes to win. There are a lot of really attractive dynamics at play in terms of free agents coming to Golden State.”

Due to the injuries and other changes to the roster, the Warriors finished with a dismal 15-50 record in 2019-2020. The team's 15 wins were the lowest in franchise history since they were the Philadelphia Warriors in 1952.

But with Curry and Thompson, along with Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins, returning to the lineup next season, Golden State isn't your typical team that holds the No. 2 overall pick in the draft. Besides the draft, the Warriors could make trades or free agent moves to lure another star to the Bay Area.

While some believe Golden State is declining, Kerr is certain that the Warriors can continue to add more talent to the organization.
