Kevin Durant may have shocked the basketball world when he announced during the summer of 2016 that he will be taking his talents to Oakland to join the Golden State Warriors, but it didn't come as a complete surprise to Jarrett Jack.

The veteran guard recently revealed that he received a call from the reigning Finals MVP four days before the start of free agency last year. He also shared, via Chris Broussard from In The Zone, that when he asked how Stephen Curry was as a person and player, he already knew that he was considering being part of the Dubs.

“He actually called me at 3 in the morning, four days before free agency. So he texted me, can I speak to you for a minute… Yo, what’s Steph Curry like?”

A year after his much talked about announcement, Durant is already an NBA champion, and vindicated himself with his decision. Despite all the criticism he received from it, he proved that he can co-exist with the Warriors' other stars, and still produced impressive numbers in his first season with them.

The revelation Jack made may not change how things turned out, but it goes to show that even players with the stature of Durant still consult with veterans like Jack. With the 34-year-old Georgia product having played with Curry back in the 2012-13 season, Duran knew he was a good source of information about him.
