The Washington Football Team's playoff hopes are hanging by a thread after their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15. Fantasy football managers might be on that same precipice with the news of the Washington running back. According to NBC Sports Edge, Gibson missed practice for the second consecutive day with a toe injury.

Gibson injured his toe in the loss to the Eagles and has not practiced since. He did return to the game initially after the injury, but two missed practices is a sign of concern.

The Washington Football Team placed J.D. McKissic on injured reserve last week. Therefore, if Gibson misses Week 16 against the Dallas Cowboys, Washington will have to run with Jaret Patterson and Jonathan Williams.

Gibson is not the only cause for concern for fantasy managers heading into their likely semi finals.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders has also not practiced yet this week. Wide receiver players to keep an eye on are Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Mike Evans and Carolina Panthers' DJ Moore.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson also is yet to practice this week and is looking highly questionable.

If you are a Gibson owner and he misses Week 16, Patterson would likely lead the Washington backfield. He filled in briefly after Gibson exited with four carries for 20 yards, including a nice 13-yard run. Patterson should be considered a FLEX play at best if given the start.

Some other emergency options worth exploring would be the Los Angeles Chargers' running back Justin Jackson and the Eagles' Jordan Howard. Austin Ekeler was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list and it is unknown whether he will play Sunday. Eagles tailback Miles Sanders is also yet to practice this week. Jordan Howard would likely lead touches, particularly in the red zone, were Sanders to miss this game.
